Special malts produced in Litovel malting plant:

  1. Czech malt
    • most used type of malt
    • features: malt aroma and gold colour
    • use: raw materials for most beers

  2. Munich Malt
    • basic material: spring malt barley
    • features: highlights the colour and the malt aroma of the beer
    • use: for production of dark beer.

  3. Karapils Malt
    • basic material: spring malt barley
    • features: provides the beer with body while preserving its light colour, positively influences the consistency of the head and beer stability
    • use: for production of light alcohol-free beer

  4. Caramel Malt
    • basic material: spring malt barley
    • features: positively influences beer stability, provides the beer with a cupreous colour and its gentle malt aroma
    • use: for production of dark Munich beer, in baking and confectionery industry and for lemonade production

  5. Dark Caramel Malt
    • basic material: spring malt barley
    • features: improves beer stability, provides the beer with the rubious colour and distinct caramel taste
    • use: for production of dark Munich beer, in baking and confectionery industry and for lemonade production

  6. Chocolate Malt
    • basic material: Czech malt
    • features: improves beer stability, it provides the beer with a dark colour while preserving its fine roasted taste
    • use: for production of dark and half-dark Munich beers, and in baking and confectionery industry

  7. Coloured Malt
    • basic material: Czech malt
    • features: provides the beer with dark or black colour and distinct roasted aroma
    • use: for production of dark Munich beers and in baking industry

  8. Brewery Wheat Malt
    • basic material: selected sorts of wheat suitable for brewing purposes
    • features: supports yeast activity, improves the purity of beer and beer stability
    • use: for production of wheat beers, added during the production of both barley lager and top fermented beers

  9. Bakery Diastatic Malt
    • basic material: food industry wheat
    • features: glume is not present and therefore is more suitable to the baking industry
    • use: in baking and confectionery industry

  10. Wheat Caramel Malt
    • basic material: food industry wheat
    • features: similar to wheat caramel malt, its advantage is the absence of glume
    • use: for production of dark wheat beers
      This malt is a production novelty and in the Czech Republic, it has not been produced yet. It is intended to be used mainly in baking and confectionery production
